Bernhardt began as ‘The Sarah Bernhardt Society’, a small feminist society at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, founded by Terenia Edwards and Edith Poor in 2013.
The group is unsurprisingly made almost entirely of actors, writers and ‘arty-tarty’ types, but everyone is welcome to join in. We host ‘scratch’ nights, roughly 4 a year – one for each season. These work like most scratch nights, with poetry/spoken word, live music, comedy… But we rarely turn people away, so we invite you to come and surprise us with something new.
Join the conversation, it’s easy peasy!
